Woody Paige: I Considered Suicide in 2002: In a column about the suicide of Denver Broncos player Kenny McKinley Monday, Denver Post sports columnist and ESPN regular Woody Paige makes an unexpected admission: "I know an older man who eight years ago this month was committed to committing suicide. Me. ... Break your leg, and you can tell. Break your brain, and it's not so evident."

Great post, rcade. Confession can be a very powerful act. Especially in the macho culture of pro sport, admitting to depression and thoughts of suicide is pretty rare. Witness the fact that the McKinley suicide came without (m)any of the outward warning signs in advance.

Good on Paige for writing this out.
