Meet the 'Smartest Man in Baseball': Oakland A's reliever Craig Breslow is the league's smartest player, claims Yahoo Sports columnist Jeff Passan. Breslow conducts genetic research in the offseason and runs the Strike 3 Foundation to fight cancer. "Not anyone can go to Yale. And not anyone at Yale can study molecular bio ... biophy... bio-whatever-it-is," said teammate Andrew Bailey.

From the A's pitching roster:

Craig Breslow: # 56 Bats L Throws L 6'1" 180 DOB: Aug 8, 1980

Dallas Braden: # 51 Bats L Throws L 6'1" 190 DOB: Aug 13, 1983

So close and yet so far

Quote from Dallas Braden: "I seriously want to be Craig Breslow when I grow up.

Sorry, Dallas. You can't skip that many evolutionary stages in one lifetime.
