This is from a few days back, but I really wasn't aware of the depth of the controversy between the CHL and NCAA hockey programs vying for talent. The more I think about it, 14 is way too young for boys to become property. I don't think the NCAA model is perfect, or even "better" in some ways (esp. not as a route to the NHL), but you'd think that keeping it open as an option would be a good move on several levels.

Nice link, cjets. I've got a buddy of mine who debates this with me all the time. I've never articulated it as fully or pointedly as the Boston blogger, so it's good to have some more for my arsenal as this debate will undoubtedly continue to rage.
