Rice Has Hip Surgery, Vikes Hurting: Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Sidney Rice has undergone hip surgery and could miss the first half of the season or longer. With fellow wideout Percy Harvin struggling with migraines, the Vikes are running low on targets for quarterback Brett Favre and signed his former Green Bay Packers teammate Javon Walker.

Odd that he kept putting the surgery off, understand that he saw a number of specialists, but wish he had gone ahead with the surgery back in June. He'd be ready by now.

As a Vikings fan, I'm not as worried about this as I probably should be. Favre has a way of making mediocre receivers look really good; Rice had done squatcho before last season, and Favre made a lot of WRs in Green Bay look better than they really were.

On a related note, Greg Camarillo may be a pretty good fantasy sleeper, as he was just acquired by the Vikings today.

Looks like Berrian's fantasy value has skyrocketed. I would love to see Javon Walker put it back together too.

But there is really one question that must be asked in light of this news. Without Rice do the Vikings really stand a chance against the Lions this year?
