CFL Pick 'em, Week 9: Injuries! Ineptitude! Make your Week 9 picks inside as we attempt to forget the awfulness that was Week 8!
When I was a student I used to work as an usher at a cinema. One evening session, I spotted a guy spreadeagled over three seats in the stalls. Calgary by 14. It was the end of my shift, so I was pretty annoyed with his poor display of manners. I yelled at him "Hey mate, where do you think you're from?" Edmonton by 14. He groaned in reply "The balcony."

Sorry, I was busy moving countries, and all the jokes were stored in the seafreight.

On edit - my computer clock said 10:54 and my post noted 10:55. I'm pretty sure I'm slowly travelling backwards in time.

Oh! My current favorite joke:
Knock, knock.
Who's there?
9/11.
9/11 who?
(shocked, soft voice)... You primised you'd never forget.

In any sport, when a 6-1 team squares off against a 1-6 team, the outcome should be fairly predictable. This, however, is the CFL. So that leads y'all to think I'm gonna pick the Leos, right? Wrong. I think Printers will show some flash, but it'll be short-lived flash as the Stamps simply find a way to win this. I'll call it a close contest though, at least until late. Stampeders by 6.
Again, this is the CFL. The provocative billboard Edmonton put up to rile the Riders might actually be pushing the right button. The shit storm that has been pounding Edmonton as of late has to break for a clear sky at some point. I think this is that point. Yes, I am predicting an upset. Even if that ultimately means I cash my winning SportSelect ticket because the Riders can't cover, it'll be a win in my heart. But for Pick 'Em purposes, I'm gonna roll with the home team this week. Don't let me down, boys! EE by 3.

Smilin' Hank sort of morphed into Frownin' Frank at the end of the 1st half in BC. Early he's slayin' the Lions, late he's lettin' 'em back in it. Exciting final few minutes of the half.

WOW!!! Geroy Simon grabs a hail mary with no time on the clock. BC converts for 2. Still ... end result is Calgary by 13: 48-35.

DrJohnEvans is on vacation, so thanks to Reever for all the wonderful game wrap ups and previews.
CFL Pick 'Em, Week 9: Heading out of two Eastern showdowns that saw the Allouettes hold off the Bombers to stay on top of the East while losing their star pivot and Hamilton squeak by Toronto in a dreadful defensive grudge match, the West gets it's turn to shine this week.
Tommytrump ties argol for a very close second place while Ying Yang Mafia breaks a tie with rahilsuleman to take sole possesion of ninth place. Otherwise, not much movement on the big table with everyone picking up at least one point on Montreal's beat down of Winnipeg.
WEEK 9
Calgary @ BC (Friday, August 27): 6-1 Calgary heads to beautiful Empire Field in Vancouver to take on the lowly 1-6 BC Lions. Will BC Head Coach Wally Buono save his neck if the Lions go to 1-7? At least the Lions have a nice stadium to pay in this year...
Saskatchewan @ Edmonton (Saturday, August 28): Will coaching changes help the Eskimos turn the tide and help save the 2010 season? The Roughriders roll into Commonwealth Stadium this week to ensure the mountain Edmonton has to climb will be that much steeper.
Good luck!
