FightFootball: A Sport Where Roughness is Necessary: The new sport of Fight Football is the answer to the question, "Sure, I love mixed martial arts, but why don't they form teams and pass a soccer ball around with their hands trying to get it into a goal net?" The Italians who have started the sport explain how it works: "In the FFL the objective is to score goal, however, players are aloud to fight their opponents using several fighting techniques." Skip ahead to 12:20 to see a sample of play (via MiddleEasy.Com).
Here's another version with irritating music.

I don't think this sport would ever fly. Who would govern it? Athletic Commissions responsible for combat sports? FIFA? WWE?
Fill your boots if this is your thing, but I'm gonna wager that this post is pretty much the extent we're gonna hear/see/talk about this one.

Watched a couple minutes, didn't find it to be all that interesting. Fighting and football don't mesh well together (at least not when it's legal).

No, some Greek-African mix dude did. Makes no difference. The sport game event idea just struck me as being as totally idiotic as Mussolini's plans to ally with Hitler...

Ha! They have roman numerals.
Seriously, though--and I might be biased, as I have no interest in MMA either, but--this looks dumb. It seems like a misguided attempt to remove the hassle of enforcing rules against fouls and diving by allowing whatever you want, 3 pairs of guys sparring on one side of the field while someone else tries to run past them with a ball just looks like they don't even know what they're out there for.
