I guess it's par for the course over there, but that North Korean story is still bizarre. To be honest, I was very impressed not just with the scoreline but with their play in the opening match against Brazil. The other two matches, however, left a little to be desired.

From the article: The broadcast of live games had been banned to avoid national embarrassment, but after the spirited 2-1 defeat to Brazil, state television made the Portugal game its first live sports broadcast ever.

Ouch. I guess they won't be doing that again any time soon.

On another note. Is that A-Rod clip for real? That is hysterical!

Yeah, it's real, but it's old.
Number 50 on the Orioles this year is Frank Mata, and that's definitely not the name on the jersey in the clip, plus that looks like old Yankee Stadium.

There was no #50 in 2009, 2008, or 2007.
John Halama wore #50 in 2006, and he's left handed (as opposed to Eddy Rodriguez, who was right-handed and whose name is too big for that clip).

Doing a quick search of batter vs pitcher database on baseball-reference.com, I find that Halama faced ARod with the bases loaded, while the score was 4-1, in old Yankee Stadium, on April 23, 2006 (bottom of the 5th inning).

So that clip is more than 4 years old.

If you care, the next pitch was a ball, then ARod hit a sac fly to score a run.
