Canadian Calls 911 to Report Winnipeg Jets Missing: A 33-year-old Lundar, Manitoba, man called 911 repeatedly to report the theft of the Winnipeg Jets and demand that the Mounties get them back. "He began the conversation by saying he wanted the Jets back. He was quite upset about it," a source told the Winnipeg Free Press. "He had apparently been drinking." (In related news, the effort to bring the NHL back to Winnipeg continues.)

"He had apparently been drinking."

Whatever gave them that idea? Really, Lundar, Manitoba, is the host locale for the "All Canadian Goose Shoot" each October, and the community is promoted as a good place to raise a family. Surely in such a fine, clean place with its full schedule of activities, one should be hard put to find examples of alcohol abuse.

OK, OK, before all you people from the frozen north start jumping my case, this was written purely with tongue in cheek. I did look the place up, and it seems like it's pretty quiet up there. Maybe they're better off without the NHL.

That was good Howard. I hate it when we Canucks get all defensive. Lundar, Manitoba sounds like the end of the fucking universe.
