Woods Helps Watson Say Goodbye to St. Andrews: Five-time British Open winner Tom Watson said goodbye to St. Andrews Friday with help from Tiger Woods, a golfer he's sharply criticized for his personal conduct. With Watson clear to miss the cut and a hole left to play, darkness was falling and it was unlikely he'd finish in time. One group ahead, Woods waved him through to play it out and say goodbye in style. Watson, 60, kissed the Swilcan Bridge. "The Scots invented golf, and they love the game with a passion unlike any other people," he said afterwards. "I enjoy that."

Wait a minute!

This doesn't fit the (new) media-driven narrative about Tiger Woods! Aren't we supposed to criticize everything he does?

Where in the article does another golfer (anonymously) complain about Woods, and an old PGA official suggest that Woods is doing something detrimental to the sport?

I'm so confused!
