SportsFilter: The Saturday Huddle:
A place to discuss the sports stories that aren't making news, share links that aren't quite front-page material, and diagram plays on your hand. Remember to count to five Mississippi before commenting in anger.
At work yesterday it was fantastic to see a collection of folks around the big screen in the cafeteria, laptops open, allegedly "working" who were up off their seats, running around and screaming when Bradley's equaliser went in.
A vast difference to the mixture of apathy, confusion and bemusement I saw in 06.

I'm encouraged by the fact that the NBA Finals thread got 38 comments, while the US vs Slovenia thread has 79 so far!
Taken yesterday from a municipal 911 emergency response center tape:

We may have a golf tournament going on in the US this weekend. Not entirely sure, though. I'll have to go check and see. After this afternoon's FIFA match is over.
Same goes for a tennis tournament supposedly happening in England sometime soon.

Hardly a safe measurement, but I'm encouraged by the fact that the NBA Finals thread got 38 comments, while the US vs Slovenia thread has 79 so far! There's hope for you lot yet!
I think SpoFites come out in force whenever an official or referee blows a game. When Jim Joyce blew a perfect game that thread had over 100 comments.
