University of Waterloo football program suspended for a year on doping scandal : “This is the most significant doping issue in CIS history, and we're taking it very seriously,” Marg McGregor, CEO of Canadian Interuniversity Sport, said in a statement. The doping revelations stem from the spring arrest of Warriors receiver Nathan Zettler for possession and trafficking of anabolic steroids. That prompted the school to order the entire team be tested.

As a graduate of U(W), I can say that no one will really notice if they are out for a year. They have the 5th biggest enrollment in Ontraio, but they have the smallest stadium in all of Canadian university football (1,100 person capacity) and they NEVER fill it up.
I graduated over 15 years ago, and during my time there and afterwards, I don't think they've ever had a winning season in football.
Also, two ways to look at this:
1) Another entry in the column titled "Steroids don't necessarily help players perform better."
or
2) How fucking bad is the football program when they AREN'T using steroids?

One irony of Canadian football is that without any drug-testing in the CFL, it is surprising that doping is more rapant.
I took a friend of mine (former IFBB pro body builder) to the Calgary-Edmonton game. She was dumbfounded when she heard that there was no drug testing in the CFL. "Why aren't these guys all jacked on juice?!?!?" was the response.
