Maybe Scott was just working to even the incredibly tight zone both teams received in the first couple games. I'm a Jays fan, but I kept yelling at the screen during Boston at-bats, "That's a fucking strike, you idiot!"

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, but in the previous game, Dice-K struck out nine and walked none. Given his usual walk-the-bases-full strategy, the home plate ump couldn't have been too tight.
