The Red Sox were a little upset with the after yesterday's loss. Dustin Pedroia had this to say:

"[The umpires] must have had a flight. I'm actually going to check on that. If they had a flight, we're going to make sure it was delayed. Because I can do that. I have that kind of pull."
Maybe it was Dale Scott's strike zone gave them cause to be miffed.

Maybe Scott was just working to even the incredibly tight zone both teams received in the first couple games. I'm a Jays fan, but I kept yelling at the screen during Boston at-bats, "That's a fucking strike, you idiot!"

Expand the zone, for God's sake.

Some ordinary writing, but some classic links in this piece via the Sydney Morning Herald.

Bring back the biff, indeed.

Love the Pedroia quote. Can you be punished for criticizing the officiating if your dig is funny?

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, but in the previous game, Dice-K struck out nine and walked none. Given his usual walk-the-bases-full strategy, the home plate ump couldn't have been too tight.

Albert Breer blames the media for ignoring PED use in the NFL. It's an interesting take on what has been previously discussed.

That wheelchair video is hilarious!

Trivia: Saltergate was where they filmed some of the scenes from The Damned United, as it looked like The Baseball Ground circa 1969.
