Duke wins National Championship in a thriller over Butler: The too-perfect basketball story with the too-perfect ending is still available on DVD. The real celebration for the new national champion — that's taking place on Tobacco Road.

I was cheering for Duke, but damn if wasn't hoping that final half-court shot by Butler had gone it.

The NCAA going from this great game to a 96 team tournament would be like baseball going from Joe Carter's home run to a fuckin' work stoppage.

Glad the officiating wasn't too bad
They did let 'em play tonight though. Ultimately, when that's the case, the players do still seem to decide it ... just as happened tonight.
Exciting final to be sure.

That's twice now in two months that the city of Indianapolis has taken runner-up in arguably the two biggest championship title games in American sports. It sucks to lose, but at least Indy fans can say that they were there. It was great for the city and for Butler and I can't remember a more entertaining Final Four. The mood at the northside bar where I watched the game was still upbeat after the loss. What a ride! Had Hayward's shot somehow gone in, it would have been too good to be true...

So close.
...but yet so far away.
Great game. I also thought that half court shot had a chance of going in.

The ACC has won this championship 5 of the last 10 years.

That was an epic game. Constant lead changes, officials who let the players play and two aggressive teams crashing the paint over and over.
I didn't watch much college basketball, so I was expecting Butler to be the typical underdog that stays in the game by sniping three pointers. So much for that. They may have lost, but nobody can say they didn't belong in that game.

Great game, thought Butler was going to pull it out there with 20 seconds left, but it wasn't to be.
Glad the officiating wasn't too bad, in fact I thought the ref's did a nice job throughout the tourney.
Love March Madness...best tournament in sports!
Bring on baseball!
