Another Drew Revives Basketball at Baylor: Despite receiving no votes in the AP preseason poll, the Scott Drew-led Baylor Bears are one win away from reaching the Final Four. Drew, the older brother of Bryce and son of coach Homer, "inherited a program decimated by one player murdering another player, a program rocked so hard by scandal that the Bears weren't allowed to play non-league games just four years ago," writes Gary Parrish.

On a semi-related note, the Lady Bears beat Tennessee today to make the Elite 8, largely due to Freshman Center Brittney "Punchy" Griner's 27 point 10 block game.
Odd coincidence: The Lady Bears match-up in the Elite 8? Duke also. Weird.

Oh crap, my bad. It was Purdue that Duke beat last night. And after I say I can't see anyone beating Kentucky, West Virginia looks like they're about to.
What a wacky tournament. Hell, who knows, maybe Baylor can win it all.

Full disclosure: I'm a Baylor alum (2001).
Drew has done a borderline miraculous job. (insert your own witty line about Lazarus here) Even in my wildest dreams, I couldn't have expected him to turn the program around this quickly. He's obviously done a hell of a job recruiting, which is no small feat considering he's competing with UT, A&M, OU, OSU, Arkansas, etc etc. I watched a bit of the Duke/West Virginia game last night, and the Blue Devils looked very underwhelming, so I really like the Bears' odds of making it to the Final Four. I don't expect them to have much of a shot v. Kentucky, but I'm not quite sure anyone left does.
By the by, if you want a full rundown of the whole Dotson/Dennehy/Bliss incident, there's more than you ever wanted to know here.
