Hamilton gets the job done in a scene which has become all too familiar for Toronto, while Montreal's backups struggle against Winnipeg. Out west, both Calgary and Saskatchewan clinch playoff spots: Saskatchewan in an OT thriller over B.C.; Calgary in a blowout against Edmonton.

Two weeks to go, and no gimmes. Well, maybe one gimme.

Toronto @ Edmonton (Friday, October 30) Toronto's way out of it, but teams that have the least to lost can often be the most dangerous, and Little Stevie Reaves is playing for a spot next year. Will Edmonton get it together in time?

Saskatchewan @ Hamilton (Saturday, October 31) Back in June, would you have believed me if I'd told you that both Saskatchewan and Hamilton would be battling for a home playoff game? No. No, you would not have.

Calgary @ B.C. (Saturday, October 31) B.C. needs one more win to clinch a playoff spot, but Calgary's still playing for the division crown. With Casey Printers back at home, this is definitely the game of the week.

Winnipeg @ Montreal (Saturday, November 1) Winnipeg's still in the hunt for that playoff home game, but it all depends on whether Calvillo will play. You might want to wait for the news bulletin on this one.

Good luck!

A guy from Canada is walking across a bridge late a night, and he sees another guy up on the fence, obviously close to jumping off. "Hey, stop" the Canadian shouts, and rushes over. Edmonton by 15. "Why?" the jumper asks. "There's nothing to live for". The first man recognises the jumper's accent. "You're a Canadian, just like me." "So?" the jumper says. "Look, we live in the best country in the world, we have free health care, and lots of other reasons." Saskatchewan by 10. "That's true" is the jumper's reply, "Say, which part are you from, anyway?" "Alberta", the first Canadian man says. "Hey, what a coincidence. I'm from Alberta, too." says the jumper, then adds "What a beautiful place, we must have a lot in common. How about them Stampeders?" BC by 7. The first guy looks at the jumper, then suddenly pushes him off the bridge. "Die, douchebag, I'm from Edmonton." Montreal by 12.

Oh good, I have enough time to blow the Costanza.

Watch what you wish for, YYM ... the way I've been spiraling down the rankings might suggest that the 2006 Costanza winner might be in the hunt for another.

In the meantime, Schultzie picks:

Edmonton by 10

Saskatchewan by 1

BC by 4

Montreal by 7

PointSpreads: EE - 81/2; SK - 1/2; CAL - 11/2; and No line on the WIN-MON game yet.

I can't even begin to express how frightening tonight is for me. No, not because there are likely to be Halloween costumes making an early appearance, but because the Argos have nothing to lose. The Green & Gold, however ... that's a whole different story. My only hope is that if things don't click early, that Maas gets the nod. The EE have GOT to win this one! In the end, I think they will. I think they'll be able to put it all together as they get ready to close this season out on high notes (no, not the way Hec Pothier got high). EE by 13.

This could be a great football game. At the end of the day though, I think that Saskatchewan is the better football club. They are in the Hammer, so it should be close ... and I mean really close: Saskatchewan by 2.

Could there be more riding on this game? If my earlier picks are accurate, wins by Edmonton and Saskatchewan make both teams hungrier. Calgary to stay in the hunt for first, BC to stay alive for playoffs. BC drops this one and it's the game of the year next week versus the EE. While my prognosticating skills, as of late, have not been very good, there is ONE prediction I really really really want to come true: BC to finish last in the west. You won't hear me say this often (and don't call me a hypocrite, j5v), but "Go Stamps Go!" Calgary by 15.

And if others are gonna wait for the Montreal reports on Calvillo (and for PointSpread to publish a line for this game), I'll reserve my prediction as well.

AC is 95% good to go for the game today. My heart says Winnipeg, but my head says Montreal by, lets say, 9.
