MLB Post-Season Pick 'Em, World Series Edition: An underdog-free year means lots of points for everyone, withe the possible exception of the L.A. faithful. But now it's time to fly east into the rain and snow of November, and wonder whether baseball actually got around to writing up a rule which would prevent last year's Game 5 fiasco. Crack open your rulebooks and make your picks inside.

The big guns take not only the pennants, but also the ERA crowns. C.C. Sabathia holds the Angels to 1.13 earned runs over 16 strong innings, while Cliff Lee blanks the Dodgers over his eight innings. Meanwhile, despite Matt Stairs having 2 more ABs than the jet stream, the AL collects 175 total bases to the NL's 137.

cl nails both series, both bonuses, and half the TB bonus to log a massive seven points and jump right into contention. At the top, Jeffwa's five points put him into a tie for first with rumple.

Please double-check your picks to make sure I got 'em right. And now for those two little words which make everything all better:

WORLD SERIES

Philadelphia Phillies (93-69) vs. New York Yankees (103-59)

MVP BONUS

Pick the MVP of the Series.

PITCHING WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS BONUS

The Phillies and Yankees' starting pitchers averaged 101.6 pitches per outing in their respective LCS. Will the average number of pitches that both teams' starters throw, when rounded to the nearest integer, be over or under that number?

TIEBREAKER BONUS

Pick the average game duration of the World Series, rounded to the nearest minute. Lengths of games are published in the official MLB.com box score. This pick is worth no points, and is only used in the event of a tie for first place or the Costanza.

Total points available: 2 (Series pick) + 1 (MVP Bonus) + 1 (PWC Bonus) = 4

Example pick: Yankees in 6, Matt Stairs, Over, 4:12

Wow- so I can't possibly win, nor can I possibly get the Costanza. Such joy. :)

I guess I'll pick:

the Yankees to sweep in 4 (ensuring a Phillies win),

name A-Rod the MVP,

under 101.6 pitch average for the starting pitchers,

3 hours and 31 minutes.

I feel that I should've received more points for nailing the bonus exactly.

Phillies surprise in 6 as...
Jayson Werth is the MVP and...
Starters are left in for more than 102 pitches (over, in other words) and...
The games are unendurably long, lasting an average of 4:20.

OR

In 6 Phils triumphant will be

Jayson Werth will win MVP

Starters more than 102 throw

But the watchers will all know

The time of game 4:12 plus will be.

OK, do I get a bonus point for bad rhyming?

Yankees in 5 games. MVP: Mark Teixeira Starters will throw under 101.6 pitches, average (a really poor outing by Pedro in Game 2 brings it down).

Average game time: 4:05
