I was in a crowded pub the other night, with the music playing really loud. Edmonton by 9. However I had to fart. BC by 12. So to get away with it, I timed my farts to coincide with the beat of the music. Montreal by 11. That's when I realised I was wearing my iPod. Calgary by 15.

damn server crashed and wiped my whole entry!?!?! ... let's try this again
Edmonton's defense might be a bit suspect with a pretty significant rotation of players (injuries and new acquisitions), but more suspect is whether or not the "real" Edmonton offense can show up or not. Do the receivers and running backs have sure-grip this week, or fumblitis? I'm gonna bet on the former. Granted, the Bombers will play motivated football after their impressive win over the mighty Argos [he says with tongue in cheek ... or as I've recently found out, (tic)]. As such, this just might be a high-scoring affair. Either way, Edmonton will find a way to score 6 more points.
I've been saying it all season long: the Lions are in the western cellar come playoff time. That doesn't mean they can't or won't crossover, but the cream of the crop in the west is rising as this playoff race heats up. Riders are just plain determined. Lions just don't seem deserving---they're not anywhere near their potential this year. How BC is favoured (albeit only by a half-point) in this one I have no idea??? BC Place is not a real advantage when they're playing against the Rider Nation (unless, of course, the refs or game supervisors are wet coasters). Saskatchewan by 13.
So this talking dog was telling me about a talking duck that told a talking chicken not to cross the road. Then he farted while wearing an iPod in a busy pub. Montreal by 8.
I dunno, could this be a tougher game to pick? The Hammer needs to close out strong, but Calgary might need to close out stronger if they're gonna have any chance of having home-field advantage heading into their run to play the Grey Cup in McMahon. Part of me really wants to call this a draw, but I think I might have to give a slight edge to the Stamps---make it a field goal. Calgary by 3.

Montreal takes care of business in Hamilton, while Calgary does the same. Saskatchewan overcomes early turnovers to win a tight one, but Toronto can't quite finish their comeback attempt.
j5v nails two more spreads this week for a SEVEN point week, leapfrogging into first place with a three-point lead. owlhouse keeps things interesting in the second tier with six points of his own.
The final push for playoff position begins in earnest this week.
WEEK 14
Edmonton @ Winnipeg (Friday, October 2) Edmonton's just lost two games by a total of seven points. They're going to be an angry bunch come Friday. Don't bet little Jenny's medication on the Blue Bombers.
Saskatchewan @ B.C. (Friday, October 2) In the other corner, Saskatchewan just won two games by the skin of their teeth. They could just as easily have the same 5-7 record as B.C., and B.C. Place always plays tough for visitors.
Montreal @ Toronto (Saturday, October 3) Now that the Alouettes have clinched a playoff berth, maybe they'll rest their starters. That's really Toronto's only hope.
Hamilton @ Calgary (Saturday, October 3) Hamilton experienced a rude wake-up call last week, but I'm not sure that we've seen the last of them yet.
Good luck!
