Karma coming home to roost for that disco album?

Guy has filed a $3.5-million civil suit against the police and prosecutor involved in issuing the arrest warrant for him, which resulted in international headlines.

I totally understand how the police and prosecutor can be at fault for your son's drug, drunk driving and assault charges after pleading guilty to 23 counts, including 13 involving his (16 year old) ex-girlfriend. No way you have any responsibility for that Guy.

This may be Guy's crowning achievment in disco.

I wish there were a "14 years? 2 minutes for looking so good!" joke in here.

"The maximum penalty for perjury is 14 years in jail. However, the Crown is seeking a conditional sentence for Lafleur to be served in the community, saying he doesn't pose a danger to society. ... The defence argued that Lafleur has suffered enough, given all the publicity the case has attracted, and should therefore only be fined.

His lawyer, Jean-Pierre Rancourt, requested an absolution, since a criminal record would hinder Lafleur's frequent travel to the United States."

Send his ass to jail. Who cares if he's a hockey legend or not, the guy flat out lied about his son's whereabouts when he knew exactly where he was.

In Canada, is it not illegal to be over the age of 18 and dating a 16 year old? His son sounds like a creep and so does Guy...just for making that damn disco album. Good Lord!

No.

All hail Canada!

It's amazing how a quick trip to Canada can make dating a minor sound so much less of a crime, aye.

Not less of a crime, it's not a crime.

The Tackling Violent Crime Act raises the legal age of sexual consent in Canada to 16 from 14, the first time it has been raised since 1892.

But the law includes a "close-in-age exception," meaning 14- and 15-year-olds can have sex with someone who is less than five years older.

Considering that since I live in the United Stated of America and it's illegal for someone over the age of 17 to date a minor, it's illegal where I come from (unless my name was R. Kelly that is).

I think you'll find it's not illegal for someone over the age of 17 to date a minor in the United States of America. One the other hand, I'm pretty sure it's illegal for them to have sex with the underage person.

So, then, first dates are o.k., but after that I'm a criminal?

posted by tahoemoj at 05:26 PM on May 04, 2009

That would depend on what you do on the second and third dates.

Quite simply, I put out. Don't tell my wife.
