FedEx tries to use college hoops for advertising: Federal Express comes close to having Memphis wear its colors for one night.

Considering that Memphis is FedEx's main hub for its air express operations, and that FedEx provides hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars annually to the economy in Memphis, an "Appreciation Night" seems like a reasonable and honest gesture. Somehow, the nannies and anti-business elements of our society fail to understand that universities, communities, and businesses have a mutually beneficial symbiotic relationship. Each contributes greatly to the benefit of the others. Wear whatever colors you want, Memphis!

College basketball is already commercialized -- coaches have endorsement deals, teams have shoe contracts, arenas sell advertising, and TV rights go for millions. The only thing that isn't commercialized is player compensation.
For this reason, I don't see the harm in Memphis wearing FedEx colors for one game. Not allowing it is a weird place to draw the line.

There must be a team with colors that closely resemble FedEx's that wants to sell out, right?
You must mean the Fed-Ex Broncos.

The company dropped "Federal" from it's name a while back.
