The Atlanta Journal-Constitution covers some of the best high school football players who don't exist, including Montego Powers and Arthur McDuffy. "I phoned Rodney Jones, the former coach at Mount Pleasant during what was purported to be the McDuffy era," sportswriter Mike Bianchi wrote last year. "He received hundreds of letters about McDuffy from colleges around the country. There was one recruiter who made a 500-mile trek to Mount Pleasant to visit this 6-foot-6 mountain of make-believe."
