Link Dump!: Dunno what the protocol is on these kinds of things...but I think I know Aesop Rock track-sharing is not normally frowned upon...

Who is this Aesop you speak of and why, praytell, does he Rock?

Christie has signed on to be a Clipper for the next 10 days, which means he has brought along his wife, and by all previous accounts, she's a load. She will be hopping aboard the team's charter today to begin a seven-game trip, and while that might be news to the team, it was nothing compared to what I told Donald Sterling at halftime. It seems no one mentioned, "The Christie's Uncut," a movie made by Doug and Jackie, starring Doug and Jackie. I caught a little bit of it earlier in the day and did my best to describe the opening scene to Sterling. "OK, so there's this white furry bunny on the bed," I told Sterling, "and Doug is just in his underpants, a dog collar around his neck, and his wife — dressed like a maid who has more on her mind than making the bed — is pulling Doug by a dog leash and repeatedly whipping him, while he's yelling, 'again, again, again.' " Doug Christie is playing for the Clippers.

Speaking of Aesop...seems he's been busy. Can't wait for the new LP later this year.

his wife, and by all previous accounts, she's a load. Not by Doug's account, obvs.

I love the love that Aseop is getting. I always thought he was a local phenomenon (I am from that wacky Long Island place) but if cats like Vito in the Pacific NW are into him I guess his exposure is national.

I actually learned about Aesop Rock on an Ask Metafilter thread - somebody was enquiring about underground hiphop. That same thread taught me about Sage Francis and Atmosphere as well...I have never seen him live but he plays at the Showbox in Seattle everytime he has a new LP to promote.

Russell Crowe thinks you look a little uncomfortable around cheerleaders.

Tommy Lasorda tirade, this is the first time I'd heard it and man did it make me laugh.

Lasorda's tirade made me think of Earl Weaver's tirade. While looking for that, I found this page of various rants (including Weaver's). The page is semi-SFW. The audio most definitely is NOT.

I can't find anywhere to download a certain song, so can I borrow $100? Oh well, there's always youtube.

Thanks, SummersEve! I'd never heard the Weaver rant - did it actually happen live on the air?

Wow, listen to Dan Hawkins motivational speech. This rocks.

Dusted, from what I've read, it was pre-recorded. It was raining all day and it was pretty obvious that the game was going to be called. Apparently, Weaver was kind of making fun of himself. My favorite radio outtake, be careful, NSFW unless you have headphones: RealPlayer link for Casey Kasem and Snuggles.
