NFL playoff pick 'em? : Anyone interested? Anyone want to run it? I'll volunteer if nobody else steps up, but I'm not the best candidate because a)I've never done it before and b)I'll be traveling during the conference semis and finals.

We talking pick 'em or confidence here? I realize it clearly says pick 'em, but figured I'd clarify.

I'd like to play (but feel like I haven't hung around here enough lately to qualify).

Yukon, no religious opinion here, whatever's funner. As I said, I'll do my damnedest if no one more with-it volunteers, but I know I won't do the best possible job because I'll be on a plane during two of the playoff days.

Playoff pick'em would be pretty cool. To go deep, you'd have to save your superbowl favorites till last. There could be crazy action early. If someone could run it, count me in.

Dano there isn't a limit on the number of people so feel free to play. I thought the pick'em worked well last year, especially since it allows for bonus questions which tend to be fun. I would think DrJohnEvans would be a good candidate to run the thing (if he wants to) seeing as he's been quite successful managing pick'ems in the past.

Pick'em would be good. Each round, everyone makes their picks. Of course, it would be nice if we could keep it a secret from the others, but that might be too difficult.

I'm down with whatever the hindmive comes up with. Of course, knowing this lot, we'll have both a confidence *and* a pick 'em game. Cool.

I'm in.

Hmmm... I think I might take the 'dog everytime. By my calculations, if you had started with a $100 and done that consistently throughout the season, you'd have $4,950,000. What a crazy year.

I can run it. In order to keep picks secret people can email me. Obviously I won't be making any picks if this is what we go with. Pick winner and point spread? 1 Point for Winner, One Point For Spread. 3 if you get the spread right on and winner right. Spread formulated the same way Dr. John did for the CFL? I'll have to come up with some bonus questions.

I am in, sounds like fun. I like the secret idea, will the results still be posted after each round though?

I can run it. In order to keep picks secret people can email me. Obviously I won't be making any picks if this is what we go with. Actually, you should be able to particpate. Mail one person your team order (list the teams that are playing) and mail someone else a list of Ws/Ls. Combine the lists, and you have your wins and losses for each round for each team. Individually, no one knows what you are doing, but only after you combine the information can you decypher your picks. The only fair way to do it is to make your picks early in the week, so you can't see everyone else's picks before making yours.

I'm not a big fan of emailing the picks, I'd rather just do it in a thread. However, if it's the only way so be it.

I don't remember doing secret ballots in the past. We just posted our picks in an appropriate Locker Room thread and went from there.

Yeah, no big deal if people see who we pick ahead of time. Email is too complicated. If you just copy off my paper, you won't win anyway.

Agreed. I will gladly share my picks with my fellow SpoFites, just to they'll be as clueless as I am. Secrecy is for /insert appropriate derrogatory term here.

We talking pick 'em or confidence here? For your information, I've reopened Project Confidence for new pools. If you want to run an NFL playoffs confidence pool, start here. Cheers!

I'm very interested in playing, not running it. I know Hal Incadenza did a great job last year but he doesn't seem to be around.
