Top Twenty now, Top Ten next! "Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee..." That Ronaldo, he's pretty damn good.

I'm back, I'm bad. I'm not black but I am mad.

I picked the right day to sell bloody Samaras and buy Anichebe. I hate this game.

Strangely, I'd just come here to taunt you about that FB. Still, at least you weren't spooked into selling Saha like me. Cue hat-trick.

Sorry that was a typo. I meant cue groin-strain. :-)

I sold Saha and Fabregas to get Solskjaer and Ronaldo. Solskjaer doesn't even make it to the bench today (after scoring in two straight games) and right now, James Milner of Newcastle has scored the only goal of the match. I imagine Fabregas will have a hattrick and two assists tomorrow.

Solskjaer's too old to play three games over the Xmas hols. He may even be older than Santa. HT 1-1 (Milner and Scholes).

Strike that. 1-2, Scholes again, Ronaldo assist.

I shoulda bought Scholesy instead of Ronaldo. Plonkers.

I came very close to getting rid of Saha and I wish I had done! I also came close to buying Shorey instead of Taylor, and I bleeding well wish I had done that as well!

DON'T PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just sacrificed another 12 points, that's 24 over the course of the last two games. I hate this game.

I brought on Saha this week, and gave him the armband. Freefall has begun.

I picked the right day to sell bloody Samaras and buy Anichebe. Yuh, and I picked the wrong year to not get hammered on New Year's to get up and watch a snooze-fest. I don't know if this would be better as a separate locker room thread (probably better as me doing my own homework), but can someone explain the rule (something about a "provisional keeper") that forced Sheffield to play a positional player as keeper after Kenny got hurt?

Each team only gets three substitutions for the match. If you've switched them all out, and your goalkeeper goes down, he has to be replaced by someone already on the pitch while you play a man down. I didn't see the match, but I'm guessing that (or something close to that) was what happened.

Good guess chico, but no cigar. Sheff U manager Neil Warnock thinks that Phil Jagielka; the outfield player that replaced Kenny ) is a decent enough keeper. So he doesn't bother to put a reserve keeper on the bench. I assume he thinks it gives him more flexibility in terms of outfield substitutions. To be fair, Jagielka didn't look at all out of place in goal.

Warnock takes a playful pop at Jagielka: "I like having an extra forward on the bench. I didn't panic when he (Jagielka) went in goal, he doesn't get worried and neither do I. It's the only chance he's got of being man-of-the-match."

It looks lke being a pretty poor week this week, but fortunately, that seems to be the case for most people. I can't bloody stand Man Utd, but while I've got Ronaldo as captain, I was screaming at him every time he missed a chance against the Magpies.

I'm in! Many thanks to all of you who supported my request to join the league late. Of course since my first request, Ladyboy has become a points machine, and I've suddenly rocketed up to first place...

Oh, that's just what I need... another piranha in the tank.

yerfatma - That "positional player plays in goal" thing also happened to Chelsea in the opening match this season. Though in that case, both of their keepers got injured and John Terry put on the gloves. But the game only lasted another kick or two.

Ok, so it's not like the NFL where you can't play your 3rd-string QB until a certain point in time (or the other two are knocked out).

Well, there it goes. I had to use my wild card. There's no time like the present, since I'm losing ground weekly.

OK, so I really had to use it to get Henry in my lineup.
