It might be early doors, but it looks like a two horse race. Challenging for both the World Cliche Championship and the Gold Medal for Mixed Metaphors

Yukon, at least we've got each other. Your ass looks fantastic from here. Look at that folks! Isn't it beautiful?

My Zizou Headbutters sucked ass this week. Bloody Portsmouth defence. And Kevin Nolan. Why couldn't you have let Gary Speed score instead? Bah!

Fat Buddha and I have climbed into the top half of the table. Where we belong. After all, we are Massive Clubs , er, well maybe just massive.

I watched the Pompey/Bolton after work today and, really, Bolton were incredibly fortunate to get the win because the home side were much better except for the finishing. Admittedly, though, the finishing is really what counts. Schdule seems favorable for me to see both CL matches that ESPN is showing tomorrow. Go Reds!

Well done to FB for taking the weekly title. Perhaps my reliance on two Pompey defenders this week was a little unwise, but Bolton only had one decent shot on target and that went in.

Two? I had three going, and one as captain. But when they haven't conceded, its hard not to play them. Sol, you should've buried your early chance, you git!

Well, I was just above average, so I suppose I can cope

Wouldn't that have been sweet. I had the armband on him too. Then I could have distanced myself from Yerfatma's burning gaze on my finely chiseled behind.

I had the armband on John Terry, who is apparently a long way away from any pitch this week. I have already kvetched about this, though, so I'll be glad I only dropped two places and carry on as if I knew what the hell I was doing.

I hate it when my favorite uncle dies and my FFL team gets no attention. Makes for a bad week.

First, Texan -- my condolences on the loss of your uncle. Since I haven't a clue what I'm doing, I had previously been following a one-trade-a-week approach and trying to pick folks who were performing well. That's been serving me less well lately, so this week my innovative new strategy is one I've codenamed Operation Sit Tight And See What Happens Because I Have No Better Ideas.

Ah, the "Stay the course/A thousand points of light" gambit. I hope it bears fruit, kemosabe.

One goal for Andy Johnson (my captain this week) so far against Man City. This is shaping up to be a much better week than last.

And Speed scored, too. But, of course, I left 11-pter Campo on the bench.

um, dumb question. Do bench players show points they would have earned or did you look that up, wc2k2?
posted by geekyguy at 05:05 PM on September 30, 2006
After being rather pleased with myself for sticking the Viler in my team last week, I am rather less pleased this week, having dropped him and sacrificed 9 points.

geekyguy said: Do bench players show points they would have earned or did you look that up, wc2k2? hey geeky, I looked it up, but I didn't have to look far. You won't see it in the Latest Points view of your team, but you will find it on the My Team page. (This assumes he's on your team, of course.)

You speaking of Agbonlahor, FB? That was a sweet goal, no doubt. Villa did a good job of making Chelsea look ordinary. Competent, but ordinary.

Worst. Gameweek. Evah.

Good thing for me Saha didn't play this week. That means I get 13-point Campo subbed in instead. Good job, Fergie!
