CFL Pick 'Em, Week 11: I so don't even know what's going on anymore.

Things are getting interesting. B.C. wins a surprising squeaker against Edmonton, Montreal forgets to show up in Toronto, and Hamilton keeps on keepin' off.

Things get exciting as Folkways misses a week, but only one week in a pleasant medical surprise. The result leaves things tight at the top: a tie for first with single-point decrements after that. Overall a meagre week, as nobody even sniffs a spread. Cut the deck again, Jack.

Another three-game bye week, including the second half of a Saskatchewan-Hamilton home-and-home which probably looked very compelling when the schedule was put together four months ago. WEEK 11 Calgary @ Montreal (Thursday, August 24) After two losses in a row, is Montreal officially "reeling" yet? If not yet, check back next week. Calgary's fresh and they put on a good show to beat the Alouettes last time they played. Toronto @ Winnipeg (Friday, August 25) Two wins in a row for the Argos? How did they do it? And can they do it again against a Winnipeg team that's given them trouble all season long? Saskatchewan @ Hamilton (Saturday, August 26) After beating up on Hamilton, GM Ray Shivers was let go. With a repeat performance, maybe Saskatchewan's entire starting lineup will get cut. Good luck!

Wow I have to be hospitalized for a bit and yall let me stay in first place. Yall are the best!! All I can say is (in my best Mel Brooks voice) ITS GOOD TO BE THE KING! Montreal by 11 Toronto by 5 Saskatchewan by 23

After a remarkable week where I managed pick everything wrong, I find that the only place I should be able to go is up. Then again, who knows... Calgary by 16 Winnipeg by 10 (though Toronto will win) Saskatchewan by 3

Montreal by 12 Toronto by 8 Saskatchewan by 5 Like you, YYM, I'm just hopin' like hell that I don't go 0 fer 3 like I did last week!!! As much as this hurts to say as an Esks fan, I think the Riders are gonna blossom now that Shivers is gone. The pressures to perform have seemed to come from the top down in Saskatchewan and it hasn't been fun for the players.

If the Argos are going to win every time I don't pick 'em, then ... I'm torn. Calgary by 12. Argos by 7. Hamilton by 10.

So, I guess that whopping 3 points gives me bragging rights for this week. Woo-hoo! /rolls the bones Calgary by 20 Toronto by 10 (hopefully the chico curse doesn't burn me on this one) Saskatchewan by 14

This is a tough week. Calgary is strong and getting better, but I can't see Don Matthews and Anthony Calvillo being that crappy two weeks in a row. Also, Burris is nothing if not damned streaky. Let's say Montreal by 17. Tough call in Winnipeg, very tough. But Toronto's defence is rounding back into form, and if Damon Allen can put just enough points on the board... it'll be Toronto by 8. Not even close. Hamilton is lost, whereas there's a new fire in the administrative bloodstream of the 'Riders. Saskatchewan by 23.

Despite Montreal collapsing, and despite my missing the consolation spread point by a lousy rouge, my evening was salvaged by the debut of the second-best CFL touchdown celebration ever: The Five-Man Bobsled.

That was one of the best celebrations I've ever seen, Doc. I concur heartily, it was the highlight of the game. Square Pegs by 6 Hammy by 3 Friggin' Canadians, playin' football on Thursdays...
