Could this be our first spam-post? Or just a newbie's mistake? That site that was posted is pure crap. And the links that it promises does not exist. They want you, the site visitor, to suggest the link. Good one.

Definitely spam...

I dunno, I had a look and just thought it was crap. Maybe I'm just too trusting. One things for sure, if he was an innocent newbie you guys sure scared him off.

I don't know. I've seen this site linked before on sportsfrog, and I agree it's not the best site in the world, but it may serve a purpose for some people.

I d'kno', I think it was ... ... PURE CRAP!

Nope, it's spam all right. You can email this guy at JSultzer@sportslinkscentral.com. I can only assume he didn't know the policy of not self-linking, or he would have made a fake name.

OK, who's up for executing him?

Samsonov14, how do you know he's at sportslinkcentral.com? I don't see that address in his profile or on their site.

Hey kirkaracha, aren't you one of the Pantheon? So you probably have access to his email when he registered, no? Why don't you give him a nice warning, we're on to him, but we'll let it go, nudge nudge wink wink ... this time. Next time, he gets burned at the stake.

Kirkaracha, I used a colleague's account at work to email to "jsultzer@sportslinkscentral.com" because I had found an amail address in a similar format (first initial, last name @sportslinkscentral.com) in a media mention of sportslinkscentral.com. The message I sent was ostensibly about a "bruins website", but I cut if off halfway through the first sentence. He responded, letting me know that there was something wrong with the message I sent. So there you go. I felt kind of bad about being brutal about the website, so I wanted to make sure that he was associated with it. I feel better now. (And I know there's really no reason to use a friend's email account, but when you're playing detective it just seems appropriate to go incognito. I was also wearing a fake mustache when I wrote it.)

I looked for evidence it was a self-link, and would have removed it earlier if I was aware of jsultzer's e-mail account at sportslinkcentral.com. It gone now, though, like a few other self links in the past.

Thanks for the detective work, Samsonov14. Of course, fake moustaches are not part of the official uniform, so that will have to come out of your budget. I would've done the same thing as rcade once I saw Samsonov14's detective report. I thought the post was borderline without the e-mail connection, but with it it's definitely spam.

What, no breaking of kneecaps?

He should be burned at the stake! Drawn and quartered! Keelhauled!

Arrrrr. Make him walk the plank.

Make him attend all the Tampa Bay Devil Ray games this year! Okay, that might be a bit harsh.

Just because we didn't say we broke his kneecaps doesn't necessarily mean we didn't break his kneecaps. In other words, we're not not breaking kneecaps.

Just like they say in the old country: "You don't mess wit da Pantheon."

I'm calling "spam-post". The tone of the blurb is pure web advertising copy. Who would write "Check it out and tell me what you think" at the end unless they had vested interest?
