So...in one of the early threads, the difference between SI and ESPN/Mag was eloquently described as the difference between always looking forward and always looking back. Did the founders of Sportsfilter intend for it to look forward, to look back, or what? And what say the other early adopters? [The question is prompted by my desire to discuss a specific game occuring tonight, which I can sort of tie in to larger, retrospective and analytic themes, but not very well It seems to me that the thread would seem slightly out of place with what I've seen so far here.]

I would agree with rcade in that as long as your post comes across in an interesting (no MY TEAM KICKS ARSE necessary), discussion worthy manner then by all means post it. On an unrelated note (and since I'm not able to post to the lockerroom yet), is there a way to change your password? Also, I think it would be helpful to 'turn off' the login box on the main page when someone is already logged in. It kind of throws me off a bit and makes me think I'm not logged in. BRAIN ANEURYSM!

We felt, "vibe-wise", that a sideways look at things was the best way to go. :)

Heh. Well, really, I wouldn't dare post 'my team kicks arse'- that's what I came here to get away from. Sideways... I'll think about that :)

I wouldn't say it either. My team is the Dallas Cowboys.

rcade: well, I grew up two miles from the U. of Miami (defending national champs in baseball and football) and I just graduated from Duke (defending national champs in basketball) so I can accurately claim my teams kick arse. But I didn't think that was the point. ;)

I hope we have a good mix of links in both directions. If you have a link about the game that's worth reading, and you think the topic's worthy of discussion, go ahead and post it.
