GREAT article---like most---I didn't know anything about this---but a great example of student/sports. I am impressed and this is saying alot since I am not a 'big round ball' fan

one of the greatest 'love/hate' people ever in sports--I personally did not like his 'style' but I admire VERY much how he got his kids an education no other coach I can think of ever had a graduation rate that he had year after year that is the essence of s student/athlete

just why is anyone acting surpried?? most of us have known for a long time that 'many' schools overlook all sorts of stuff just to win football and basketball bring in the $$--win or get out will be around for a long, long time

I think I would have made #2--#1---this guy was on the ground when it happened---and--how about that little 'fight' down in Flordia--makes my TOP TEN

I'm the 'old' guy who watched (on TV) Boston win all those years ago. I still don't think another coach since then could even hold his cigar (this should bring some remarks)

big $ somehow does not get the Cubs to the play-offs--it seems that after following these bums for 40 years the act is this---'come to the Cubs--and just show up'--the money will be there no matter how you preform--AND NOBODY THAT COUNTS CARES---the fans still come---(not me, will not go again til the year after they go to a world series)---its been 18 years and counting--LOL

ND will be really good, but like I said in a previous post--that schedule is a killer. Has to be in the top 5 for 'tuff' schedules. What about the other top 10 teams?? what are their schedules like??

#1--yep, I'm an Irish fan--#2--schedule is too tough---no better than a top 10 finish for them

Maddox isn't the Cubs problem --so I wish him the best---he did not stop it so I think he sees the Cubs sink again---now get the management out and Cubs can get going for next year---LOL--always next year----and again--why should they worry (remember I am a fan) when they draw 3mill. fools to the park

As an 'older' golfer---I go with Palmer and the rest who would have liked to see some shot making changes instead of just longer--a guy who ONLY hits it 300 yds now is going to go right into the middle of the bunkers--just has to be a better way

T.O. is going to wreck any team he plays with but the NFL is win at any cost--I am a KC fan and can only hope he goes elsewhere---this whole thing is sad--a true talent who ruins teams he plays for

as a 'new' old guy--i agree with most of the top 10--but---the John U colts and Starr packers beat the best of the NFL at the time---and beat them they did---the lack of TV coverage stops comparison to the 'modern' teams

A Short History of the Baseball Played in a (Small) Coliseum
Old enough to remember this---all the sports casters said a record would be broken--even the 'magic' #60 (at that time) would fall---happened the hear the Cubs game when Walls hit 3---everyone in the radio booth was making light of his 'pop-ups'--what bothered most was Banks hitting line-drives that went for singles.
