For the Red Sox movie, they're asking fans to vote on which of four titles it should have: This Is the Year, Another Season, Fenway Blues or Red Sox Blues. Not the most creative titles in the world--I guess "The 2003 Boston Red Sox" was too edgy for them. A caller to sports radio in Boston yesterday lamented, "It's too bad 'Titanic' is already taken."

Yes, what the previous commenters said about Cuban being cool. Check the post from March 16 in which he includes his exchange of email with Kevin Blackstone of the Dallas Morning News and then Blackstone's subsequent column. Cuban is upset that Blackstone tried to spin his comments for the article. I wonder if Cuban realizes posting such correspondence on the Internet might not be the best thing to do to improve relations with the media.

The article does distinguish between having the steroids and using them: The information shared with The Chronicle did not explicitly state that the athletes had used the drugs they were said to have obtained. That's just to cover themselves legally, I guess. The implication is pretty clear from all this.

I agree with what Jack Ramsay said: "Danny seems intent on the future without thinking of the present. I can't say his future looks especially good, either." Ramsay is O'Brien's father-in-law, so he's a little biased, but he's correct that Ainge has ripped apart a decent team without setting the stage for any revival in the forseeable future, his claims to have a secret "plan" notwithstanding.

It still exists because it's SI's biggest-selling issue of the year.

The Wizards are the only team in the Atlantic Division not to change coaches within the last four months. Terry Stotts is the longest-tenured Eastern Conference coach. Just when you think the Atlantic and East in general can't get more pathetic, they do.

He didn't exactly go out in style, being battered by Klitschko before the gash over Vitali's eye stopped the fight. He should've done the rematch, beaten Klitschko up to avenge last June, and then called it a career.

Dick Harter was let go this afternoon too. I'm not sure who they will find to take this job now that Ainge has showed us he will pay zero attention to what his coach wants in making personnel moves, even when that coach is the only one to take the franchise to the playoffs in nearly a decade. Jim O'Brien deserved more respect than he was shown.

Don't believe the Drudge Report! That said, Brady's sister has admitted Tom might want to be a senator down the line. He's from California, so anything goes.

I don't think I've been so excited to wake up and see snow since I was in high school and hoping for school to get cancelled. If not for the November 30 goal-line stand, the game would've been in the dome in Indy, and that could've made a big difference.

Green is an idiot. He could've gone to a franchise with ownership that actually cared about winning, but instead he demanded total control of football operations and he only could get it with the hapless Cards. Yerfatma is right about Bidwell and Green deserving one another.

Jim O'Brien seems really pissed about the trade. He said that he didn't give his input and only found out about the trade pretty late in the process when he spoke at the press conference before the game. Then after the game tonight O'Brien refused to take any questions and stormed off. He must be angry over the way the Celtics defense has been sold out by this deal. He really liked Williams and Battie, and there seems to be a bit of a rift growing between O'Brien and Ainge.

From the full article in the New Yorker, which isn't online:
If a player shoots an air ball, the fans shout "yangwei"; in the Sichuan dialect, it means "impotent." To encourage the home team, they chant "xiongqi" ("erection").If you can get your hands on last week's issue, I recommend it as a good read.
