Sports Bio

The most memorable sporting event I have ever attended was the 2005, September New York Mets at St. Louis Cardinals 2nd game of the baseball 3-game series. I mean, my favorite baseball team of all time, the Mets, at St. Louis, whom I also like and finally got a chance to see Busch Stadium and in it's last year [2005]. All of this and the fact that the Cardinals beat my Mets something like 6-3 will never leave my mind. It was my first professional baseball game in person. I got a chance to see my Mets and I got a close-up picture of our pitching coach, Rick Peterson! I will never forget this! Of course, I follow the Mets passionately from April to September and beyond. Also, the same for the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Knicks as well as both the Tennessee Volunteer football and basketball [MEN'S] teams.

I wish the Knicks could have their choice of any 8 players before the draft starts!

The Hoser's NFL Picks, Postseason Week One

Indy definitely is and should be the favorite, but anyone remember 1995. The situation was reversed but Indy somehow defeated mighty Kansas City. I believe this time KC will defeat mighty Indy! Look for Larry to get at least 160 yards and Green to hit Tony G and Eddie K many times. It will be a high scoring affair with KC winning it in the 4th quarter.

Piniella finds a wallet in Chicago.

I think Lou will turn the Cubs around. He mainly has to acquire some talent and encourage those free swingers not to be such!

College Football Rankings - Week 1

Six Southeastern Conference teams in the top 25! The top ten is about what I would say..., the clincher..., one of the 6 SEC teams will win the National Championship! The SEC is that good! All 25 teams look good.

Bonds Relived

I wish everyone would leave Barry alone. He is in quest for and certainly will be the new home run champ. I hope this is not a black thing. He is the greatest home run hitter of all time, yes better than Babe! If you say Babe did it in fewer games. Well, I am very sure pitching was not as good and frankly blacks not being allowed to play in the majors then..., well you may have already seen Babe's record fall or he may not have ever had the record of 714 even at that time if blacks had been allowed to play. Leave Barry alone..., forever!

Sources: Favre to play '06 season for Packers

Great decision for Bret. For 15 years I have watched him play Pro football. And, he has been very good. Perhaps, this year he could pass Marino as the all time touchdown pass leader. I'm very happy to hear he has decided to play another season. He is a tremendous competitor and team leader. This is great for the NFL.

3,000 Square Feet of Trouble

If he has declared himself eligible for the NFL draft, what is the big stink? Listen, he's through with college football and it does not appear the home was a direct gift to Reggie. If he was going to come back and play next year, well because of the rules maybe look into it. But, what is ethically wrong with it anyway. In my opinion college athletes should be paid; not near the level of professionals, but something. Look at the dollars colleges make off, yes, athletes. If no more than a few hundred dollars a month!! Last year I bought 3 ball caps with a college insignia on it. They cost me with taxes, $22. Imagine 500 caps being purchased..., well! College is not professional but come on. Timing is crucial and don't take that the wrong way. If something is not found out almost immediately, there should be no thinking in arrears!

Father of Mine

Perhaps the man is his real father but, why now? The money in endorsements expected to be made by Dawson! Better judgement would have been contact Dawson after the Olympics are over. Perhaps the would be daddy saw dollar signs coming his way signified both by the approach he used and the place and time. And, the other prospective parents also know the value of money!!

Why skating is not a sport

Skating definitely is truly a sport because it is a real gift to be able to do the movements of a figure skater, tremendous conditioning and endurance to be a speed skater and to me; coordination and skill to be able to roller skate. Years ago I found this out, falling several times while attempting to skate at a rink. I was 19 years old!!! Sport involves anything done athletically!

The Ten Best NFL Teams of All Time

My number one NFL team of all time is the 12-2 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers. There was no beating the Steelers in the playoffs during those times unless they were injured...i.e the 1976 Raiders. But, this is a credible list compiled. By the way, my second best; the 1969 Kansas City Chiefs. Please comment!
