Joe Buck and Jim Nantz, Sportscasters or corporate shills?

joe buck is ok - at least he's got a sense of humor. nance is just such a flatlining cbs yes man afraid to commit himself to any kind of controversial position on any subject. listen to him chew the fat with his golfing buddies mike/mad dog anytime to get an idea..

Cards win the NL Pennant.

the mets should've won game 7. bases loaded not once, but twice & we couldn't even get a cheap single up the middle. blame has to go to the offense with major culprits david wright, valentin & chavez. speakin' as a realistic w/out rose-tinted glasses-kind of mets fan, have to admit my skepticism & disappointment with wright in particular for the full second half of the season thru the playoffs. met fans wanna lynch me when i say this, but i'm inclined to at least think about the possibility of trading this guy's long term contract for a-rod in some kind of package deal with maine or perez maybe. no matter how good wright turns out to be, he'll never be a-rod (who will). rodriguez, a hall-of-famer, is 31 but probably good for another 10 years or so, wouldn't have to worry about jeter, plus he'd get to fulfill his big apple ambitions and stick it to the yankees in the process. crazy?

Best... and worst buys in Baseball

i gotta differ about vlad guerrero though. maybe nobody dares run on his golden arm during regular season, but he was a total bust in the playoffs last time with the angels, let's face it. not worth EVERY million here. and that herniated disc.. we mets fans will take our chances w/out him, thanks.

Mets add another starter

il duce's almost a senior citizen by some reports, but certainly can't hurt this "experienced" rotation. he eats innings & proven not afraid to pitch in nyc. julio was holding his own in bullpen, considering - and younger. good for short-term, not so sure about long-term.

How long will Broduer stay in New Jersey?

the devils got their chit together. top-notch classiest org in local ny sports who get zilch credit for contending every year w/out over-inflated payroll like the skankees and they've got 3 cups, to boot. i hope marty sure unseats roy in the stats book because i can't stand that headcase.

The Ten Most Hated Athletes

yea, right - i just happened to look through the latest sports headlines & pick names randomly, not knowing anybody on the list. if you're a mets fan, you'll know where i'm coming from. the rest of 'em i'm just sick of looking at, year after year - but i guess you could interpret that as some twisted form of flattery, if that makes you feel any better.
