Kimi Raikkonen rocked.: So I tape the qualifying at Spa and Raikkonen looks like he is ripping the track up, using every inch of every corner, and whipping every last bit out of his McLaren. Ferrari and Michael Schumacher defeated this effort to gain the pole postition, and will almost certainly win the race. While I appreciate Ferrari's competence, I really admire Raikkonen's effort, even if it will be for naught. Is F1 like baseball, where you learn to appreciate the nuances, so that even losers like Raikkonen, or Nolan Ryan, can be appreciated for their individual performances despite the inability of the teams around them to compete? BTW, the Formula One website is very well done, clean and fast, with lots of links.

If people would simply park their cart between the green and the next tee, and then fill in their scorecard at the next tee, I promise I won't be standing in the fairway, waving my arms and generally behaving like an ass. I hate it when I do that. And I agree with the opinion that the course managers are overcrowding the links by scheduling tee times too close. And when the ranger comes and tells you to pick it up when your waiting in a five hole traffic jam? Where the heck are supposed to go faster with one of those train wrecks in front of us?

I still say hockey is my primary interest in HDTV. 16 x 9, higher resolution, bring it! Also, I notice that a lot of people really get into Olympic hockey. The last two Winter Olympics have had what seemed to me to be an increasing amount of hockey coverage, and I don't think they are doing that for anything other than ratings, ergo, people watch Olympic hockey. Now, other than nationalism, what is the difference in the play or the coverage that causes people to watch Olympic hockey, but not NHL hockey? I enjoy the level of play, as it seems there is less shenanigans, and more hockey, and the game is played both ways. Nothing like watching a lazy, looping center finally backcheck for once in his life.

Canada wins the Gold in Ice hockey, 5-2
Lemieux letting that pass through was pure genius. The whole defense froze, Richter focusing on the shot everyone just knew had to be coming. He was screwed when that pass was let through. Good game, a blast to watch. Canada pressed hard, and kept the US from breaking out against their press. Good game plan, executed perfectly.
