Thanks batgirl, like a couple of the posts said you captured what I was thinking and what I was feeling. I have mourned the passing of several other hall of famers as a sports fan because of what I had seen on highlight films, but I grew up watching Kirby. Tis one hits home. I agree BigTall, I don't think Tyler will come out until his junior year (hopefull with 2-3 championships). Also how about the stones the freshmen posses to go into the toughest homecourt in college basketball and pull off the win. With the recruiting class that you mentioned, it should be another great year for the Tar Heel Blue.

I just think it is amazing how strong the pedastal is that we put these athletes on. No matter what they do, they can not get knocked off. Another thing, just because pot is not as bad as other hard drugs or they do not kill anybody like on previous posts, it is still against the law and against NFL policy. So why should he or anyone get special treatment? I have said it before, if it would had been any one of us in the normal workforce we would have been put on our ASS after the first positive result. Period.

I don't think you should be hired or even considered just on the premise you are black. The best candidates should be interviewed on their qualifications from a football standpoint not a race standpoint. There are some coach's (black or white) that will never make it as a head coach but the black ones are interviewed just so that a team can fill a quota. Too bad.

I'm glad that they kicked him off the team. When you are given a second chance it is not just for a couple of months or for a season, it is for the duration of your tenure there. It's just like us in the workplace, if I screw up and is given a second chance and screw that up, I deserve to get fired. Great job ISU, I hope this sends a message to their recruits, mess up and get kicked off the team. It's the only way to keep your program clean and keep the bad kids out.

I remember watching that Bears game as a kid, and wondering why my family was cheering for the big guy (fridge) to score the touchdown when the guy with the curly hair ( Payton) had did all the work. I read that Ditka still to this day regrets not putting Sweetness in to score the touchdown. Hey Grum, what about Thurman Thomas forgetting his helmet? Even though I am not a Cowboys fan,( I even lived there for 6 years uggg) I am a football fan first. My whole family are Cowboys fans and I remember seeing Crazy Ray running around on t.v on countless occasions. I hope everyone will help him out for the years of memories and laughs. I agree with you Chris, it is about time everyone in the country finds out about what Coach Haskins has done for the sport of basketball. A must see movie, but I must tell you guys to read the book as well it tells the real story without some of the Hollywood theatrics.
