I'm glad this is available now. They could have (rightly) charged money to access it. It's fun to go searching for the articles I remember reading as a kid, and then reflecting on them again many years later. I remembered this cover from when I was 11 years old, but I didn't recall the article.

I had a cork wall in my room as a kid, and I removed the covers of my SI issues (except the swimsuit, natch) every month and used them to "wallpaper" that cork wall. Cool find, nemo. Cheers.

March 27, 1989. Page 13. The very first mention... BTW, the interface for actually reading the magazines is a perfect mix of UI and copy-protection. You can manually flip the pages by gripping the corners. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go look at the old swimsuit issues. You know...for the articles.

That is cool to see they opened these up... Hope it is long enough to look through a lot of back issues...

If you are one of the few to catch any episodes of "Welcome to the Captain", then you will recognize Jesus the Bellman in his MLB days HERE

I forget who it is on SpoFi who is the Lauren Jackson fan. I never understood that until I saw this.
