World Soccer: January Friendlies Update: Puerto Rico is on a roll with victories 2-0 and 1-0 over Bermuda last week in preparation for the first phase of the 2010 World Cup qualifying that begins next month in the Caribbean. The last time Puerto Rico won as many as two games in a row came in 1993. Among some of the other friendly results: Barbados 3-2 Antigua & Barbuda, Guyana 1-2 Grenada, and USA 2-0 Sweden. Still to play in January are Haiti vs. El Salvador, Puerto Rico vs. Trinidad & Tobago, El Salvador vs. Estonia, and Iran vs. Costa Rica.
The last time Puerto Rico won as many as two games in a row came in 1993. Well, when a team only plays every few years... ;) Actually, the US win was encouraging. Sweden sent their B team, no Ibrahimovich for instance, but we only had two first choice among the starting XI (and that's being kind to Twellman). Eddie Robinson, who scored the first, was making his first NT appearance, and quite a few others who dressed have less than 10 caps. Plus it was sweet to see Landon become the US all-time leading goal scorer from a PK since so many of his goals are from the spot.

BoriQa, would you happen to know how Taylor Graham is eligible to play for Puerto Rico? Also do you have a link to last Wednesday's game recap that doesn't require a subscription, because if I tell the folks at Metrofantic that Graham scored a goal without proof they're not going to believe me.

>> would you happen to know how Taylor Graham is eligible to play for Puerto Rico? All you need to play for PR is to be a US citizen and to be nationalized for Puerto Rico (means that he agreed [and signed] not to play for the US team) >> Also do you have a link to last Wednesday's game recap that doesn't require a subscription... BoriQa: Have you considered writing a column instead of these updates? I am not sure a summary page such as the one to which you linked is all that newsworthy.
