Maddox or Kordell?: Yes, Tommy, that XFL guy, has become a contender in Pittsburgh. Unbelievable. I remember seeing his face on NBC under some wacko helmet. Does the coach need to stop favoring Kordell, or is he still the future of the Steelers? Corky predicted this would happen.
Maddox, please start Maddox, please, please start Maddox, and I said that the Steelers needed to start Maddox after the Patriots game. Maddox has the skill to run a spread offense, and Mike Mularkey had to simplify the offense for Stewert, and now he can take advantage of Randle el, Ward, and Buress if they start Maddox.

I agree with bcb2k2. Kordell has proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he can't cut it under pressure. Just look at the interceptions in their playoff loss last season. That being said, and me being a Bengals fan, please Cowher, please start Kordell. Please, start him!

Looks like Cowher reads this board. Good move for him and for his team.

Not nearly as down on Kordell as a lot of people are -- I don't think he's hopeless. That said, I wonder what planet he was living on when (a) when he talks about how much he's accomplished to the point where that should have given some slack; and (b) he didn't expect that a change was going to happen, given how crappy he's played this year... His only saving grace for the last few years was that they didn't draft Pennington in '99 or '00.

Kordell Stewart has had one good season, 1996. Last year, he only did enough to not mess up, after the OC dwindled down the offense so as to not overwhelm the player formerly known as Slash. Then, against the Pats in the championship game, he choked faster then P.J. Carleisimo at a Sprewell house party. Stewart is not a good QB. He IS a good athlete. Bill Cowher needs to understand this. Now, Cowher took Antwaan Randle-El, a college QB, and put him at WR from the start. He should do this with Stewart as well. Then, let Maddox and Charlie Batch (let's not forget him) duke it out for the QB spot. This season is still salvageable in that pathetic division they're in. The Browns will be their only real competition for the div title (regardless of what the Ravens just did to the Broncos), and 9-7 could be enough to get the Steelers into the playoffs.
