The movie had me tearing up a bit, and I thought it one of the better sports flicks I had seen. I only dimly remembered The Southpaw, and not at all the other 2. I really need to get after my reading a bit more. RIP, Mark Harris.

I always thought the movie made a great pair with Brian's Song, which came out around the same time. Harris sadly was a bit premature with "Mark the Glove Boy, or the Last Days of Richard Nixon" in 1964.
