A little fine dining, a little cloak and dagger, and a whole lotta yen.: Inside the California vacation that was signing Daisuke Matsuzaka and how the Sox got there.
So they have been showing some clips of him pitching against, let's face it, AA quality, and I just don't get it. At the apex of his career, and so-so numbers throughout in Japan. But, a lot smarter people than me see something and told Theo to go after this guy. I pray they were right, but I'm just not getting the vibe.

Let's just hope that this isn't Hideki Irabu version 2.0 Trust me, some of us are hoping that fervently right now, and will be for some time to come. I haven't seen him smokin' a butt yet, so that's a good sign.

What a menu, can I get a plate of the sea bass, please? Also, I love the story about arriving at the bid amount. There have been about 30 explanations for that around the Boston media. One even trying to explain that amount equalling a specific round number when converted to Yen.
