Now, Johnny Unitas -- there's a haircut you could set your watch to.: Johnny Unitas died today at the age of 69. Considered by many to be the greatest quarterback of all time, he will be missed.
Mookieproof -- No mention of him being the all-time leader in QB fumbles, either. As for Unitas, very sad to hear this news. I was not alive to see him play, but on seeing his highlight reels (esp. from the '58 championship game), he was certainly one of the best (if not THE best) QBs to ever lace 'em up.

The most alarming thing about Unitas' death for me--because I'm too young to remember his playing days--was seeing the statistics lists on which he appears. One man stood out for me on these lists--third all-time in consecutive games with a touchdown pass (at 28, behind Unitas and Marino) and eighth all-time in career touchdown passes (just behind Montana, just ahead of Jurgenson and Fouts). This quarterback? Dave Kreig. (There was no mention of him also being the most sacked quarterback ever...)
