Satans no more. : A North Dakota high school voted to stop using its 80-year-old team name, the Satans. "[The public school board president] said that while a majority of the people would like to keep the name, there is a 'significant minority' that deserve to be respected." The high school? Devils Lake.

Wimps. This is not a separation of church and state argument. Devil is a commonly held term across many cultures, and is held by many as simply a mythical figure. What if we called them the Apollos? Would that offend. People are too easily offended. This is such a logical contradiction: According to local supporters of the name change, it's an issue of separation of church and state. "I don't see how we as a people can remove God from schools and let his adversary remain." So it's a separation of church and state argument justified with a religious statement? What?

*sigh* Political correctness strikes again... Can't have anything that may offend anybody. I hate this planet.

If the name is the plural of a figure who is considered singular in any one religion, isn't that promoting comparative religious studies, rather than one belief. I'm a little disappointed that the Satans never got to play against the Gods , the Prophets, or the Fighting Jesi.

Funny you should say that about Miroslav. First time I saw his name, in one of the EA NHL games, I figured it was a gag:)

ESPN's player number 666 is no joke. Here in Edmonton, we were all very disappointed when he was traded.

Geez, first the Rigas mess and now this. How can we as a civilized society make it up to poor Miro?
