Alcohol and sports?: Apparently there's a link between the two. Who knew? According to a Scarborough Research report, there's a correlation between what you drink and what you watch. I wish there was a more complete report - maybe someone else can ferret out more information.
For the record, there's nothing better than a 30 pack of Busch Light and an NHL playoff game.

Ok, I was in Scarborough this weekend, and all the signs are in Chinese, so I can only conclude that this is some kind of hoax.... oh wait, nevermind. My Alchohol Preferences I prefer good premium lagers, ales, and dark, dark drinks. Including Sleemans, Upper Canada Dark, Guinness, etc... I basically like all good beer. I don't discriminate. I'm also a big fan of Grand Marnier and Crown Royal (rye whiskey). Smirnoff vodka isn't bad either. I enjoy a nice chianti with pasta or an elegant meal, I tend to eschew white wines, champagnes and sparkling wines, perhaps out of habit. I also prefer beer or a good shot of vodka over those designer drinks like Mike's Hard Lemonade, Smirnoff Ice, or Bacardi Silver. My Sports Preferences I enjoy participating in ice hockey, basketball, soccer, snowskiing, and waterskiing. I enjoy watching football (the american kind), hockey, basketball, soccer, and snow ski-racing. I don't know how they conducted that survey. Seems kind of sketchy.

Scarborough's press release, most of which is covered by the original linked article. My Alchohol Preferences English-style ales (current favorite: Fuller's London Pride), Czech lagers (Pilsner Urquell is astonishingly good in Prague, not so good here; I was delighted when my local grocery stocked Budvar Czechvar), Japanese beer with sushi. Red wine, the cheaper the better (and I live in San Francisco--it's blasphemy). Vodka (Stolichnaya or Smirnoffs). And I haven't outgrown college drinks like rum-and-Cokes. My Sports Preferences Playing: soccer and indoor soccer. Formerly football. I'd try hockey but I can't skate backwards. Watching: American football (all season), baseball (going to games any time, watching TV only in the playoffs), NBA and NCAA basketball (playoffs on TV).

Sierra Nevada goes with all sporting events. So does gin.

I once read that people who watch the NFL are more likely to drink wine than beer. I love the NFL. I also drink both beer and wine, but I can't image asking for a Chardonnay during the opening kick off or any other part of the game. Perhaps the study was referring to overall habits and not habits during the game. Or perhaps the NFL should sell wine at games. Has anyone else heard or read of this phenomenon?
