Blazers and Spurs swap role players.: How do Antonio Daniels and Charles Smith fit in on the Blazers. Does Whitsitt just get bored easily?

Does Portland have a plan to win at all?

This is a non-deal that puts neither team any closer to the elites of the league. I think Trader Bob does get bored easily, but it seems like big name players (not big name performers mind you) usually turn his crank. Maybe this is a set up move for something bigger, like trying to make a run at Jason Kidd next year or something. Its amazing to think of some of the names that have gone through that town in the last few years, like JR Rider, Jermaine O' Neal, etc. I bet Whitsitt wishes he kept O'Neal for sure. Did they get rid of Bonzi?

I've read they aren't especially interested in keeping him. Attitude could be the only reason I can think of they wouldn't resign him, but since when does Portland care about attitude?

They've had an intense amount of talent come through there, you're right.

Jesus, where do you get your news, Seattle papers?? ;) Bonzi will be a blazer, I bet my iPod on it. Steve Kerr was not happy as a Blazer, and Smith and Daniels make Stoudamire expendable. Damon caused a lot of problems for us last year, and having a pass first, second and third PG will do wonders for this championship-caliber team.

Yea! Steve goes back to the Spurs. Not that he will play much, but hey, that means that we can go back to having more Spurs coverage and less Suns coverage here in the Old Pueblo.

I'd say it's sayonara to Stoudamire looking at this trade. But the question is are the blazers going to use Daniels at PG? Are they serious. This is a guy who couldn't win a starting spot over Avery Johnson and a 19yr French rookie and has now been displaced as a back-up by a 5'11 guy who has played half a season. Oh but wait he can finish the break -- I guess the blazers really need a guy who can do that...
