English Premier League 2002-2003: begins in two weeks! The oddsmakers say Man U to win it, and WBA, Birmingham and Bolton most likely to be relegated. What do you make of the odds? And where will you get your EPL news? BBC? Soccernet? Where?

I've never been able to make heads or tails of "the odds". For example, so far AS Roma is favored to win the scudetto, yet my beloved Juventus has higher odds of winning the Champions legue than Roma. Anyone want to explain that one to (admittedly clueless on odds) me? And I get all my footie news from Kataweb (in italian) as it always has the most up to date breaking news, with Auntie Beeb serving as a backup when the former's traffic gets too heavy.

I'm also miffed that Liverpool is third, oddswise, to win the EPL. This, after finishing ahead of Man U last season, and a run in the Champs League, too. And now, with some new signings from the World Cup, and the returning young hellions to boot. Oddsmakers be damned! And I hope Man City finishes ahead of United this year.

roma: Check out the oddschecker.com Guide to Betting. Good stuff there. I know how odds are made; I don't have to like them. ;-)

On top of the beeb and espn, above, I also check out the guardian for football goodness. Especially for the snarkiness.

Get your money on Birmingham to stay up, it's a lock, as they say in Diner.

salmacis: Have the feeling I'm gonna be reminding you about that comment around Xmas time, when you've already been relegated. ;-) Gregan, heh.
