Hidden: Nobody's Perfect: My Tigers lose, but so do the Brewers, so there are no unbeaten teams left. Still my boys have got my hopes up a bit for the season. Personally I'll be happy if they just play .500 ball for the year.

Wishful thinking maybe, but could Jim Leyland actually steer the Tigers into the playoffs?

My late father used to say about all Detriot teams that, while he loved the occassional championship, he was happy whenever they got respect. He loved it when even championship teams worried about playing against Detriot. That's really all I'm hoping for this season. Next year though? Who knows.

I look forward to more box scores posted as conversation starters.

Wishful thinking maybe, but could Jim Leyland actually steer the Tigers into the playoffs? That's some heavy wishful thinking. The only way that is happening is if they win the division. They'd have to be better than Minnesota, Chicago and Cleveland. If they finish second in their division (and grab the wildcard), they'd have to be better than Boston/New York/Toronto, Los Angeles/Oakland, and two of the teams from the Central Division I listed before. I don't think they've got the goods to make it this year.

This really isn't link worthy, it is just a basic box score.

No, respectfully it's also a story about the game meaning the end of the Tigers winning streak. Did I do something to piss you off Gary? You've dropped the last few of my links and they all were on topic.
