Waiver Wire: Jim Jackson has been waived by the Pheonix Suns. It appears that the NBA has taken a cue from MLB, as players are being waived late in the year and signing with contending teams for the stretch run. Or not. In either case, they appear to be waived with a destination in mind(?).

They probably dropped him in anticipation of Amare's arrival.

I think they dropped him because they replaced him. He was about the only productive bench player last year. This year, they go much deeper, and with Raja Bell, James Jones, and Eddie House all having career years, Jim Jackson falls out of the picture. Jimmy is the oldest out of those 4, and probably the most expensive. He will jump on a team, most likely a top playoff contender. I wouldn't mind seeing the Lakers with another shooter.

Mike D'Antoni uses one of the shortest rotations I've ever seen. Typical is five guys get 40 minutes and a couple others getting 15-20. Jackson hadn't even played for almost two months.

at least he's well rested

Jackson hadn't even played for almost two months. I think thats because Eddie House and James Jones seem to have effectively filled the role he was playing last year. The Suns are definitely deeper this year than they were last.
