Spplat!: "August 31, 2002 will be a historical date in Paintball history. It will be on that date that thousands of players will gather near Chicago at Challenge Park Xtreme to play the ultimate scenario game with the ultimate Captain, William Shatner!"

"SPPLAT's J.J. Brookshire pictured here with William Shatner "signing historic agreement". Shouldn't Shatner read what his is signing? Or at least watch what he is going while he signing it? But seriously... I'm glad (or am I?) that Shatner has been able to keep his career going despite no talent whatsoever. If he and Cher had a kid he/she would be immortal, or just super annoying.

You know, I would LOVE to take part in this if it was near where I lived. Paintball is one of those "sports" that doesn't get the credit it deserves. I've only played it 3 or 4 times, but the workout and excitement from participating is the best I've ever experienced. Whether it's indoors or outdoors (in the winter, it's doubly-tough), I think most people would enjoy a couple of hours of paintball fun. Assuming you're wearing the proper equipment (and all the guns are checked ahead of time) and everyone plays by the rules, there is very little chance of injury. Until you get hit by the first paintball (and everyone does eventually) the fear factor itself bumps your heartrate up a couple of notches. I haven't played in about 7 or 8 years, but I would definitely go again if I could find enough friends with a free weekend and a couple of bucks to spare.
