Flaherty gets five-holed by the NHL's new CBA: Needing goaltending help, you'd think the Vancouver Canucks could call up veteran netminder Wade Flaherty from their AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose. Well, they can ... but not without a whole lot of trouble.

Poor Wade. Nice guy. I knew he broke through a little later than some, but I had no idea he was 37 already. I'm sure he's thought about this, but -- would he be willing to renegotiate his contract down to $74,999 so he can get called up to the big club and prove himself at the top level?

Does the money they pay if he gets picked by another club go towards the Canucks cap?
