FIFA's World Cup All-Stars! Is this the world's greatest team? Probably not (there's no Rio Ferdinand for a start) but at least they've recognised some of the real stars of the tournament such as El Hadji Diouf and Rustu Recber.
I was impressed by Ballack's consistent high level of play. Too bad Germany won't have him against Brasil.

do they only pick players from teams that made it through to the group of eight?

Quickly: GK: Kahn (Germany), Recber (Turkey) D: Carlos (Brazil); Campbell (England); Ozalan (Turkey); Hierro (Spain); Myung-Bo Hong (South Korea) M: Reyna (United States); Sang-Chul Yoo (South Korea); Ballack (Germany); Rivaldo (Brazil); Ronaldinho (Brazil). S: Diouf (Senegal); Sas (Turkey); Klose (Germany); Ronaldo (Brazil) My take: Seaman would've made it (maybe England, too) except for that silly goal in the quarters. What about Freidel? Aside from Ronaldinho, I can't say there were any midfielders of note this tourney. It's a nice surprise to see Reyna in there. Someone recognized his ability to control the pace of a game, and his untiring work up and down the field. Would've been good to see Landon Donovan in there, too. The boy just tripled his value this Cup. We'll see how long before he's off to Europe again. And, btw, I didn't realize Rivaldo was a midfielder.
