Ecclestone is an arse, definitely. While he's done undeniable good for the sport and it's exposure, he's utterly hopeless when it comes to this sort of thing. Only need to see Indy this year to see how impotent he is. Having his lap dog Mosley in charge doesn't help. I wish they'd just pick a format and stick with it. I personally think they should go with the Aussie V8 format. Have a session for all the drivers. All cars on track. Then the top ten fastest guys set the top ten of the grid in a one lap session like F1 currently. Works well in Aussie V8, plus, for the one lap, you don't get the down time of the slower cars going out when you know they can't challenge for pole. With the move to V8, F1 is in danger of becoming Champ Car. Hope they get their act together. And, just to reiterate, Ecclestone is a cock.

Just run 2 laps. The fastest of the two is your speed. Keep it simple for goodness sake. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

dbt302: Ferrari didn't win. Therefore, in the minds of the guys who are organising F1, it is broke.

Bernie Ecclestone is an arrogant, egotistical S.O.B. who should be dethroned and exiled to a go cart track in Chernobyl.
