Talk about locking a guy up: The New York Islanders have offered goalie Rick DiPietro a 15-year contract, which was apparently a tad unrealistic given the insurance premiums down the road. Read the story and ask -- was GM Mike Milbury serious, or was this just brilliant PR?
I hope they keep Milbury around for a long time. Heck, they should offer him a 15-year contract! (I'm a Rangers fan if you can't tell.)

Great PR, I think....we need more weird personalities like Mad Mike!

Yeah, great stuff - lemme just check the Islanders record under Milbury.... Whoa. That's not good. In fact, that's excruciatingly bad.

Sure, but as a Bruins fan, I want to see Mike in the game. Working as the GM for the Islanders keeps things safe for us.

And yet, in the end, he signes a 1 year deal. Lame.

It's just Mad Mike being himself. After the Yashin thing (10 years at 12 billion dollars or something), you'd think he'd learn. Not Milbury. You gotta love the guy for trying, but at the same time, you have to wonder why he still has a job.
